You'll notice we feature Fudge by Rich and Walkers Lane Brittle, both by the amazing Nicole, in a lot of our gift boxes because HER STUFF IS JUST SO DAMN GOOD! Here's a little bit about Fudge by Rich, and how she got started :)

"In the humble beginning Fudge by Rich was established as a small venture out in Healesville in the heart of the Yarra Valley. Since this time we have grown quite significantly providing top quality fudge throughout the Yarra Valley itself and now its extensive surrounds. Being described in The Age Epicure as “silky smooth confection” we pride ourselves on producing both a beautifully ‘smooth’ and beautifully packaged product.

We believe in making deliciously rich fudge with only the best quality raw ingredients resulting in our beautifully smooth product, full of genuine flavour and natural colour. We pride ourselves on unique and diverse combinations of the freshest ingredients to cater for every palate. Our product is hand made in small batches to ensure the highest quality, it is left to set before each bar is individually wrapped and string tied. This method is all to ensure the highest quality, that our customers have grown to love and expect, is maintained right to the end.

My passion for food began as a high school student.  Cooking good food and perfecting recipes to share with family and friends became ingrained in me. After high school I took a year off to save for my degree and found myself working three jobs one of them being a kitchen hand at a large Restaurant in Mt Dandenong in Melbourne’s East. I soon progressed from pot washer and became the deserts “chef” where I prepared all of the cakes and petit fours for the weekend trade. My passion for aviation however prevailed and at the turn of the year I commenced my Aviation degree.  My career as a pilot took me many places, living in various towns and cities around Australia. I was lucky enough to visit much of the World and was blown away by the different foods and cuisines so my passion for good fresh food was reinforced further.  Travel for us was as much about immersing ourselves in the food and culture as it was about seeing the sites!

You never know where life will lead you and after the collapse of Ansett our jobs were all hanging in the breeze. It was time for the next chapter.  Hence, Fudge by Rich was born! Now a mother of three little ladies my passion for good quality wholesome food is stronger than ever.  Our treats here are always homemade, with the best quality real ingredients that we can source. It is now 10 years since Fudge by Rich sold its first batch of 10 bars to my Mother in Laws café “Tastebuds in theVille” here in Healesville. Each year we continue to grow and I am humbled by the wonderful feedback from our loyal customers who too share the love for real ingredients, great quality and most importantly real flavour in their decadent treats!! For that we thank you!"

So there you have it. When one door closes, another one opens :)
