International Women's Day!
Well I picked a pretty special day to post our first blog! With so many amazing pieces and articles published today celebrating the amazing women in the world, I thought I would write just a little something about the most amazing woman I know. My Mum.
I'm not going to give away her age (a gentleman never asks and a lady never tells!), but she is still going strong. This woman has more energy than I do and I'm half her age. My Mum is a school teacher, high school first and now primary school. I'm sure the trauma of having to teach me PE as a teenager was so severe she moved to primary kids - side note; I was such a terrible teenager that she failed me. Don't worry though I TOTALLY deserved it.
She now teaches 30 x 12 year old kids every day. I'm exhausted just at the thought of it! And somehow after her long days of teaching, she still has the energy to put up with me when I need to talk her face off. She was there when I first started The Parcel Project - she was my first customer - and she is still here now giving advice. "Mum do you like the white ribbon or the purple? Mum I know you're tired and are on school holidays but can you help me pack this order of 100 boxes for Christmas? Mum I'm still waiting on a bunch of invoices to be paid, can I borrow $100?". The list of requests goes on. And she never says no.
She is the most kind hearted, genuine, caring, energetic person I know. She is the most patient person I know too, whereas I am the most impatient. I will be thrilled if I turn out to be even half the woman she is.
So on this International Women's Day, I just want to say thanks Mum. For everything. I love you heaps.
P.S Check out my dress below, IT HAS POCKETS!!! :)
